Mobile Game Development for Beginners

Building your first game doesn't have to feel overwhelming. We've designed this program for people who've never written a line of code but want to see their ideas come alive on a screen. No jargon, no assumptions about what you already know—just practical steps that make sense.

Meet Your Instructors

These aren't just teachers reading from a textbook. Each one has shipped real games, made real mistakes, and figured out what actually works when you're starting from scratch.

Bjorn Lindqvist mobile game instructor

Bjorn Lindqvist

Game Mechanics Designer

Bjorn spent eight years building puzzle games at indie studios before teaching. He's particularly good at explaining why certain game loops feel satisfying and others don't—something most tutorials skip entirely.

Petra Novakova programming instructor

Petra Novakova

Programming Fundamentals Lead

Petra transitioned from web development to mobile gaming in 2019. She remembers what it's like to feel lost in coding syntax, and her lessons focus on understanding concepts rather than memorizing commands.

Devin Okafor UI design specialist

Devin Okafor

UI Design Specialist

Devin worked on mobile interfaces for casual games that reached millions of downloads. He teaches how to make games feel intuitive on small screens—something that trips up even experienced developers.

What You'll Actually Learn

Most courses dump too much information at once. We break things down into projects you can finish in a weekend. Each module builds on the last, so you're never staring at your screen wondering what to do next.

  • Setting up your first project without getting lost in installation steps
  • Creating simple game objects that respond to touch and movement
  • Building a scoring system that actually tracks player progress
  • Adding sounds and visuals that make your game feel polished
  • Testing your game on real devices to catch obvious issues
  • Publishing to app stores with proper descriptions and screenshots

By the end, you'll have three small games you built yourself. Not complex, not revolutionary—but finished and functional. That's more than most beginners manage on their own.

Stories from Past Participants

We asked a few graduates to share what surprised them most about the program. Their backgrounds vary widely—some had technical jobs, others came from completely different fields.

"

I'm an accountant by training. Never touched code before this. The instructors didn't assume I knew anything, which made a huge difference. I built a matching game my kids actually play now.

Ravi Menon program graduate

Ravi Menon

Financial Analyst, Taipei

"

What helped most was seeing how other students solved problems. The group sessions where we debugged each other's projects taught me more than any lecture could have. It felt collaborative, not competitive.
